When I join J&J, will I join a particular division or the company?
Johnson & Johnson India is an umbrella company with 5 main operating divisions and 4 Service divisions comprising Finance, Information Management, Human Resources, Administration and Legal. These Divisions are -

 

· Consumer Products India
· Medical Division
· Pharmaceuticals Division (Janssen -Cilag)
· Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics
· Vision Care

The 5 divisions are in the business of healthcare and are like mini companies by themselves. Though in the business of healthcare, they differ in their business strategies and approaches to business. 
The profile of the people required by each of these business divisions differ as well and the recruitment is therefore specific to Divisions. A new recruit will thus join a particular division within Johnson & Johnson India.

Are compensation levels the same across the company?
No. Compensation levels vary among Business Divisions and within functions as well. Compensation at J&J is determined by the market level as well as based upon the individual's performance and potential. 

How does J&J promote the work-after work balance?
We are a company that cares. This caring extends to our employees and their families as well. At J&J, we create opportunities and facilities to enable employees to strike a balance between worklife and family.

What sort of learning opportunities are available?
We look at having people on board for the long term. Our track record shows high employee retention figures. One reason for this is the emphasis we place on Learning and Development. Learning & Development focus primarily stems from our Performance Planning & Evaluations process (PPE) (Performance Appraisal) which forms the basis of Individual Development
Planning. Being an MNC with a legacy of more than 100 years, we have best of both the worlds. Learning opportunities abound through International learning & development initiatives such as J&J e-University, Deputation assignments. At the local level too, our management is very supportive of specific Learning & Development Programs as well as tools such as e-learning, Job rotations, Coach support among other interventions, to enable employees to learn and develop.

What sort of international opportunities are available?
J&J has Regional deputation programs, International deputation programs and International Service Employees Programs (International Job Postings) to offer to employees. Deputation programs can range from 6 months to 24 months. 

Does J&J encourage cross-functional movement?
Yes, we believe cross-functional movement is essential for developing our Leadership pipeline and for enhancing Collaboration between functions. We also encourage cross- sectoral (Between Business divisions) movement through our Johnsonians First Program
