The India IM is part of the Asia Pacific Regional Information Management (RIM). It consists of a motivated team from different backgrounds, across business management, engineering and technical. The IM function offers experience in business process analysis, package implementation, database and infrastructure management.

The main goal of the Information Management department is to support all employees and business partners to be "Informed Managers" at all times, at all places and for all relevant information in real time mode.

Through the practise of the Standards of Leadership, the department works with each of the Businesses to support its endeavour in:
  • Improving at the Customer Service Level
  • Exploring New Business Models
  • Improving Business Processes
  • Providing effective cutting edge IT infrastructure and capabilities
IM in J&J also includes the Information Technology Function that has become a very critical component of the business strategy and operations of Johnson & Johnson. The IM Team has not only pioneered the usage of Information Technology for increasing productivity and automating various processes, but over the years has also mastered the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications by implementing the Best ERPs available in the industry for different business groups within J&J. This function as a result, provides excellent work and career opportunities in the areas of Software & Applications and Infrastructure.

The IM Team started with successful implementation of BPCS for all Business Groups and over the years has successfully helped in implementing JD Edwards and SAP in the company. It is on the verge of implementing Great Plains by Microsoft for one of the divisions (the first ever installation of Great Plains in India).

Along with the implementation of Cutting-edge Technology Solutions available in the market, this division has developed Customized Software specifically for J&J Requirements. Notably among them are the HR and Payroll System called eMPower, and myJNJ, an innovative employee intranet portal for Johnsonians.

  The Human Resource function in J&J is shared amongst the divisions. The division is involved in customizing people solutions that are specific to needs of the business and the overall direction in which the business is headed.
